Ownership, confidentiality, data, and what happens if we get run over.
You do. All work product is assigned to you on final payment, including the repository history. We keep no licence over it and we don't reuse anything from your codebase elsewhere. Anything we open-source is written separately, on our own time, and is never derived from client work.
Yes, before the scoping call if you prefer. We're equally happy to work under your template rather than ours.
We sign a data processing agreement before touching production data, and by default we don't touch it at all: we work against anonymised or synthetic datasets wherever that's technically possible. We're established in Lithuania, so your data stays inside the EU.
Fair question, and it's the reason we work the way we do. You hold the repository from day one, every decision is written down in the codebase rather than kept in someone's head, and handover docs are produced as we go rather than at the end. On larger engagements we bring in contractors we've worked with before, and we tell you who they are.
Most of our work is remote and EU-wide. We work in English and Lithuanian, we're in European business hours, and we'll travel for a kick-off or a milestone workshop.
We'd rather tell you at the scoping call than six months in. Fixed-scope projects are milestone-based precisely so you can stop between milestones — and you keep everything delivered up to that point.
